Is Owning a Home What You Want?
Let me be specific about home ownership- it totally rules. Nothing better! Of course, owning a yacht rules too but in this economy? What I’m trying to say here is that what may be good for some, isn’t always what’s best for you.

Yardwork, Repairs, and general Time Usage
According to a recent survey, 99% of all homeowners in North America found that their yards did not in fact water themselves, and on top of that- roofs did not patch their own holes, and apparently no one has invented a self-fixing oven yet. (Ok there’s no real survey but I’m sure the actual numbers would be close) The point is- take stock of your lifestyle and your pocketbook. Can you afford to fix things when (not ‘if’… when) they break? Do you have the time to be trimming trees and mowing yards? (Hey I got fed up with my yard grass – or lack of it – and put in artificial grass a couple of years ago. WOW it has made my life so much simpler.)If doing regular maintenance isn’t for you, then maybe the bungalow down the street isn’t either. But don’t fret- you aren’t alone. It’s for people just like you that made God said on the eighth day (after he rested, and then had to mow the lawn), “Let there be CONOMINIUMS!.”*Whatever type of ownership appeals to you now is the very best time to get into the market. As we say “You Can’t Live in n RRSP!”

* To my knowledge, God did not say that on the eighth day. He might have, he might not have, but you’re going to have to ask him yourself. I guess I shouldn’t be putting words in the mouth of The Almighty.
